Here is a picture of my son Jon that I am sending to him for his 40th birthday.  This is the first picture I have framed.  Now I have to produce a picture of my son Andy.  This started with my promise to paint a picture of my granddaughter for her Bat Mitzvah.  After many tries, I am finally getting to the point where people who know the sitter can recognize them.  Someday I may get good at this.  Practice, practice, practice.

I have started painting in oils.  These are some of my first paintings, other than the ones I burned because they were that bad.  Hopefully we will see some improvement as time goes on.

Coming....and going.

We had an art show at the Gainesville, TX, depot. I entered two views of the station. One of my drawings got an honorable mention. At a show for Valentines Day at a local shop, Vine and Branches, I sold one these views of the train station.

AARP calendar drawing

Last March I submitted a drawing to the AARP Foundation for publication on their 2012 calendar. They informed me that my drawing of a man working on his car will represent March 2012. This is a national publication and has me excited about continuing my artwork. I have received six copies of the calendar and will distribute them to friends and family.

Black and White IX Exhibit at Grayson College

I have three drawings hanging at Grayson College at a show called Black and White IX Exhibit. They will hang until March 28th. They are at the first floor exhibit hall. The center lower picture is not mine. The top center is The Garden and side drawings are of Keith's shop, The Hot and Cold Corners. The show has over 100 drawings, paintings, photos and sculptures.

The Hacker House

My newest drawing of local homes. I have included the trees and chicken coop to make the drawing more interesting to viewers other than the former owners.

I am attending drawing sessions of live models to improve my figure drawing and plan to add figures to my next drawings.
